Our first Coffee and Cake day!

October 2, 2021

After over 6 months of planning, fund raising, shop fitting and training we were delighted to put up the sign and open our doors for our very first Coffee and Cake on Friday 1st October!

When we started on this little journey we just had the simple thought that it would be lovely to have a place where our community could meet and chat.
Little did we realise that there is quite a lot involved in serving high quality coffee, tea and home made cakes!

We are thrilled to have partnered with Moon Roast to deliver very high quality  freshly roasted and ground speciality coffee. I don’t have the picture but Harry from Moon Roast was onsite later in the day to check the quality of our coffee and he was a happy barista!

Sarah Neish was our lead baker  with lemon drizzle cake, chocolate biscuit cake and scones. Karen Littlewood  brought in a fresh carrot cake and Sally West contributed the gluten free Ginger and date cake. Judging by the quantity of cake we ate everyone was happy!

Sheila Sorby organised our budding pottery ‘glazers’ to create our personalised crockery and also presented us with freshly cut flower table arrangements!

Hardly visible in the photos are the Thedden Oak shelves that Ian Gibson and Ed Neish ‘hewed’…. strange word not often used now but apt… we started with huge 5 meter pieces of a local oak tree….

The proof of the pudding is in the eating…
