Dr Jane Freeman-Hunt
|I have had three distinct careers – variety being the spice of life! I started as a teacher. I moved into IT, taking various roles in large corporations. Then I retrained as a psychologist, and I have worked as an executive and neurodiversity coach for the last 15 years. I have lived in Beech for nine years and have played an active role in the village, firstly with the Social Committee and, since Autumn 2019, as Chair of the BVH Management Committee.|
Nick Charman, FCA
|I am a lifelong sailor and diver who had to do some stuffy things to pay for it all. So, I obtained an accounting qualification, and management and boardroom experience with big and small companies. Now nearly retired, I have worked on Beech Village Hall’s Management Committee since 2011, serving as Chairman for eight years, and I became Treasurer in 2019.|
Trustee and Bookings Manager
|I worked for a US multinational in the IT industry for nearly 40 years, running technical teams around the world. I developed a passion for technology and different cultures and an aversion to flying economy class. My family criticize my attention to detail and love of spreadsheets! When not poring over policy documents, I love to cycle, dog walk and garden, but not at the same time.|
||I was a Chartered Civil Engineer before I retired in 2011. I was on Beech Parish Council for 17 years and a governor of Alton College for a similar period of time. I am responsible for the buildings and maintenance at the Hall.|
|I moved to Beech in 1988 and worked locally for many years as a psychiatrist for older people. Though officially retired, I am still involved with the medico legal side of psychiatry. This is my second stint as a trustee of the Village Hall charity, and my main interest is ensuring the Rec and Village Green remain in good shape and beneficial for both villagers and wildlife.|
|Having spent 10 years as an airline steward and in cabin crew management, I moved into sales and market development in the financial services industry. In my spare time, I enjoy amateur dramatics and philately. I was chair of the Beech Village Hall Management Committee from 2005 to 2012, and I was the Bookings Manager from 2012 to 2020.|
|Having worked in banking, I made the exciting move to become an educator. I’ve had the privilege of working in classroom and leadership roles. Delighted to get involved in Beech community life through being a part of the Village Hall Committee.|
|I qualified and worked at a firm of Chartered Accountants, and then moved to a large corporation for the final 12 years of my career in finance. I originally joined the Village Hall committee as Treasurer, where I introduced a new accounting system. I now represent the Social Committee in this team. I am also the Treasurer of another small local charity.|
||An aviation and flying nut since my youth, I spent the first half of my career as a business journalist and editor in the aviation industry. After that, in search of a new challenge and a bigger salary, I moved to a large US corporation, where I did a series of marketing and communications jobs. I took on responsibility for marketing and communications for Beech Village Hall in Summer 2020. I also do the production work for Beech News.|
