My boomerang won’t come back

January 29, 2021

For many of us a Boomerang is a souvenir brought back from Australia. However I have recently learned that a Boomerang is also a style of photograph in which a short video is cycled to create an amusing effect. I happen to know this, now, because I was looking at suppliers who could help us improve our ‘value proposition’ (posh marketing phrase) to potential village hall hirers, especially younger couples looking for a venue for a wedding reception or party.

So I happened across Party Delights of Basingstoke and they volunteered to come and show me their photo booth and flower wall at our hall. Whilst setting this up they also insisted on a demonstration of a Boomerang:

(apologies if the video does not play on your device… I can always send it as an email!!!!)

In my defense it was quite cold!

Anyway Party Delights did set up their flower wall and we managed to capture some photos to use in promoting our hall:

And the photo ‘booth’… which you may notice is not really a ‘booth’ anymore…. ie you and your friends can linger in front of it and pose…personally I think I prefer the old style with the curtain and windy (I think I spelt that correctly) seat…

Well this all leads to us building our Wedding and Party Suppliers list:

If you have ideas on other great local companies we can work with please let me know!

And some of us may remember the original version of ‘My boomerang won’t come back’: My Boomerang Won’t Come Back – Charlie Drake 1961. Of course I am far to young to remember it….
