Did You Know: a Recreation Ground for all of Beech!

March 13, 2018

Inset: Some of the volunteer mowers (those we had pics of) who keep our Rec and the Village Green neat and tidy.

The Recreation Ground (entrance up the bridle path between 45 and 47 Wellhouse Road) is not only a good place to have a kick-about with a football/rugby ball, but also a brilliant woodland playground for young children.

There are several ‘dens’ that have been built /added to over the years and the woods are perfect for little people’s imaginations to run wild!

Bring a picnic and make use of the picnic table too.  There is no traffic concern as it is well removed from any road.  **Warning: Stinging Nettle Alert – dresses/skirts and shorts are not recommended!**

The Recreation Grounds themselves, along with the Village Green at the Hall, are kept neat and tidy by a 6-stong team of volunteer mowers.  The mower has recently been serviced and is now ready for the 2018 mowing season!

Do you fancy joining the team and keeping our green spaces well looked after?  It takes approximately 3 hours (1.5hrs for the Rec, 1hr for the Green and a little time driving up and down Wellhouse Rd).  More volunteers are very welcome to spread the load a little.  Please contact John on 563496 if you would like to join. Full training received!
