BGs visit Spring Pond near Laverstoke, Whitchurch – September 2017

The Beech Gardeners made another of their outings to Spring Pond garden near Laverstoke, Whitchurch.  We had tea and cake as soon as we arrived and were given a potted history of the gardens.  It has a fairly young arboretum planted out which we had a look at, and a conservatory with a wonderful Bougainvillea.  We were able to walk through the house which was amazing – the sitting room walls were covered in pictures and wall hangings, and there were Staffordshire ornaments and ceramics everywhere.  A real Aladdin’s cave of a treasure-trove.   In the gardens we came across an enormous pond with huge shoals of goldfish and wonderful colourful shrubs such as sea holly, shrub roses bushes, large clumps of sedum and swathes of Michaelmas Daisies of mauves and pinks.   Afterwards we visited Hardy’s Garden Plants Nursery nearby and some made copious purchases !!  Another great afternoon out.  Once again here are the photos.
