BGs’ August PicNic 2015

Sarah and some of the BGs enjoying tea in the garden

The Beech Gardeners met up at Sarah’s house on Wednesday 25th August for the annual picnic.  The whole morning had been pouring in torrential rain like we had never seen before for about 1½ hours and the venue at Gill and Mike’s house had their sloping lane washed down into the Medstead Road and was lying in a heap across the road.  Gill and Mike thought it would be damaging to our tyres if we ventured up their lane so Sarah, the brick that she is, volunteered to have us all at her house instead.  We all took food – tuna, cucumber and egg sandwiches, scones, jam and cream, carrot cake, etc etc – 13 of us turned up and the sun came out for us from 4 o’clock onwards.
