Remember, remember the … 8th of November!

October 31, 2014 by StellaC

fireworks anim2This year’s Beech Village Bonfire and Fireworks Display will take place on Saturday 8th November, and if you haven’t been before it is not to be missed!

Join the crowds gathering at the Village Hall from 5pm and buy your tickets and torches ahead, while catching up with friends and neighbours – and wondering where all these children have come from! At about 5.30 the magical torchlit procession will start winding its way up Wellhouse Road to the Recreation Ground, site of the giant bonfire.

Apparently they built a bonfire as well as drinking tea!

Apparently they built a bonfire as well as drinking tea!

Enjoy the hot dogs, burgers, mulled wine and soft drinks on offer as the Rec gradually fills up and the torches are put to good use in lighting the bonfire. And then, prepare to be amazed at the truly wonderful display of fireworks put on by our little village!

There is a good reason that this event is considered one of the highlights of the Beech year – and increasingly draws crowds from further afield. Make sure you don’t miss it!

You can see pictures of last year’s Bonfire Night here and read a wonderfully atmospheric description of a previous one written by a young visitor here
