Help to save our bees

Help to save our bees

Helen Lamb has passed on some information about the killing off of our bees with pesticides and I have attempted to precis this down so that you can help support this worthy cause.  Our bees are so important to us and, if you can grow plants that they love, that helps enormously.

“Our bees are in danger again.  Toxic chemical companies are trying to get their banned pesticides back on UK fields.  An application has been submitted to the government asking them to lift the bank on bee-killing chemicals for some crops to be planted this autumn.  Bees do not have a voice, but we do.  Please can you email the environment ministers who will make the decision demanding that we keep the ban on bee-killing pesticides.  The more of us who contact the environment ministers, the clearer it will be that they need to protect our bees, not support the toxic profits of bee-killing companies.  Please can you ask your friends and family to email Liz Truss, George Eustice and Rory Stewart?   If you’re on Facebook,  you can share the campaign with your friends here; or just forward the email below.   PS: If you’d like to call the government department for environment directly to ask them to keep the ban, please call this number: 0345933 5577. Remember, you don’t have to be an expert  – just explain why you think it’s important bee-killing pesticides aren’t allowed on our fields.

It will only take a couple of minutes – just click on the following link to send an email –

Dear Sirs and Madam
What are you thinking? Are you not aware of the importance of bees? You, me and everyone will be unfavourably affected by even a small additional demise in the loss of bees. I am very concerned at the threat bee-killing pesticides pose to our food sources.  Bees pollinate so many of the foods we eat and without them we would not last very long.  Will you ensure the ban is upheld and there are no derogations granted with regard to the toxic pesticides, also known as neonicotinoids?  I look forward to hearing from you.
