Beech Art Group
Beech Art Group is held at Beech Village Hall on Mondays from 2pm to 4pm for most of the year, with breaks during the busy holiday times.

It is run by talented local artist Sally Cox, who offers helpful guidance and instruction to members in a wide range of art media. The Group is very informal, for all abilities (even beginners) and costs just £8 for each two-hour session (no membership fee).
Bring your own materials, choose your own subject or paint along with Sally, who will be there to offer advice and will do some work herself to inspire you to have a go!
Several members also belong to the Alton Art Society which organises regular demonstrations, outdoor painting days and occasional opportunities to exhibit and maybe even sell an artwork or two!
New members are welcome – for more information on dates or to sign up, e-mail Sally or call her on 563421. As she says “This is really just an excuse for an ‘arty’ get together, so go on – give it a go!”

Beech Embroiderers
Beech Embroiderers meet six times a year for an enjoyable sewing day with like-minded people. Members bring their own work, which may be embroidery or other forms of needlework. All levels of ability are very welcome and experienced members are happy to help when needed. These members also lead groups trying new ideas and techniques for those who wish to participate.
Meeting details: We meet from 10am to 3.30pm on the second Saturday of alternate months, beginning January, in Beech Village Hall. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided; bring your own lunch.
Contact: Kate Kidd on 564164.
Beech Gardeners

The first beautiful rose of summer
This informal gardening club meets monthly to compare notes on our gardening experiences (good and bad), socialise with each other, and swap and sell plants, seeds, cuttings, magazines and books. The group aims to promote wildlife gardening and encourage pollinating insects and bees wherever possible.
In summer, we visit some of the lovely gardens belonging to our members and have our usual teatime get-togethers. We have had to reduce our outings to local open gardens because there are very few gardens within easy reach that we’ve not already visited, a number of gardens are not opening any more, and our numbers often do not achieve the minimum necessary for a private booking.
The BGs usually meet on the first Wednesday of every month. New members are welcome; please contact Kathy Pearce for information about our programme.
