Twenty years on, Andy Sachs is a respected New York journalist. Her entire newsroom is sacked by text, minutes before she collects an award. Across town, Miranda Priestly is fighting to keep Runway alive. Print is in freefall and a tech investor wants her writers replaced by AI. Then Andy walks back into Runway as features editor, appointed over Miranda’s head.
The original four are back, together with the writer and director of the 2006 film. Watch out for Lady Gaga.
The Telegraph, four stars: “a glorious, glamorous tribute to the Noughties”. The Independent, also four stars, calls it a “sharp, dedicated portrayal of the current state of journalism”.
